Well, as of last week gay marriage became a legal thing and
true to the predictions of many conservatives and religious leaders my marriage
became completely invalidated. My wife immediately
became pedophile junkie, I began fucking turtles on a semi-regular basis and
our children took up smoking avocados while turning tricks at the old folks
home. This last one came as somewhat of
a shock as we don't actually have children.
Ok, so none of that really happened. Especially not the turtle thing... at all...
much. All that happened was that
homosexuals got the right to get married the same as anyone else in the country. I fail to see how that makes the country a
worse place.
My real question is: Why did it take so fucking long? I have to wonder how these people who have
protested and been vehemently against homosexuals gaining this right, or curse
depending on your point of view, don't see the parallel between that position
and the, thankfully, outdated position that black folks or indeed any race
shouldn't have the same rights as the population. What about women? If one was to suggest that it was morally
wrong for women to be able to vote, most of these people would completely lose
their minds in a fit of righteous indignation and well they should.
I mean, how stupid is it to prevent one segment of the
population from having the same rights as the rest of us. Why it is a completely ridiculous idea. It would be like saying that one group
shouldn't be allowed to marry... Oh, wait, that is exactly what they are saying
